“Washing your face twice to get sunscreen and makeup off isn’t a routine. It’s a workaround.”

— Rocco C. Piazza, MD, FACS
Board-certified plastic surgeon

Two rounds of surfactant is not a ritual. It is a workaround for a formula that could not lift mineral sunscreen in one pass — and you paid for it with your barrier.

Pavise Gentle Amino Powerwash is a serum cleanser built for the two things that don’t rinse off.

The mineral sunscreen problem nobody talks about

Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are designed to sit on the skin rather than sink into it — that is exactly why mineral SPF works, and exactly why an ordinary cleanser struggles to take it off. What is left behind at the end of the day is a film of pigment, silicone and film-formers mixed with the day’s sebum and sweat, sitting in your pores overnight. For a lot of people that residue is the real reason their skin looks congested in the places they apply the most sunscreen.

The usual fix is to wash twice. That works, but two rounds of surfactant on the same face is how a barrier gets stripped — and a stripped barrier shows up as tightness, flaking, and often more oil, not less. Gentle Amino Powerwash is built to end that trade: full removal in one pass, using amino acid cleansing agents rather than harsh detergents.

Why The Piazza Center carries it

The Piazza Center is a board-certified plastic surgery practice in Austin, Texas, led by Dr. Rocco Piazza, MD, FACS. We tell every patient that daily mineral SPF is the single highest-return thing they can do for their skin — especially after resurfacing, where sun protection protects the result. A cleanser that removes that sunscreen properly without wrecking the barrier is not a small convenience; it is what makes the sunscreen habit sustainable.

It is also gentle enough to use the morning after a treatment, which is the harder test.

What it does

  • Removes mineral sunscreen and waterproof makeup in one wash, not two
  • Amino acid cleansing agents instead of stripping surfactants
  • Leaves niacinamide, squalane and glycolic acid behind on the skin
  • Cushiony foam, mild exfoliant, non-stripping
  • For all skin types — developed with dermatologists and medical oncologists

How to use

  1. Warm water, not hot
  2. One to two pumps, worked into a light foam
  3. Massage thirty seconds — no scrubbing, no washcloth
  4. Rinse, pat dry, straight into your serum

What is in the bottle

148 ml / 5.0 fl oz · Serum cleanser · Evening

Clean skin should not feel like nothing. That tight, squeaky finish is stripped lipid, not cleanliness.

Frequently asked questions

When will my pre-order ship?
Our first Pavise shipment arrives September 14. Pre-orders ship first, in the order they were placed, and you will get tracking by email the day yours goes out.

Do I still need to double cleanse?
That is the point of this formula — it is built to take mineral sunscreen and waterproof makeup off in a single pass, so the second wash becomes unnecessary. If you are wearing heavy long-wear makeup on top of SPF, use a little more product and give it the full thirty seconds rather than reaching for a second cleanser.

Will it actually remove zinc-based mineral sunscreen?
Yes — removing mineral SPF and waterproof makeup is what it was formulated for, rather than being a general cleanser that happens to be used after sunscreen.

Can leftover sunscreen cause breakouts?
Sunscreen residue left on the skin overnight mixes with sebum and can contribute to clogged-looking pores and congestion, particularly where you apply the most product. Removing it thoroughly — without stripping the barrier, which can drive more oil production — is the goal.

Is it gentle enough after a laser or in-office treatment?
It is formulated to be non-stripping and is gentle enough for the morning after a treatment. Post-procedure skin follows its own sequence, so confirm timing with your care team before restarting any cleanser.

Morning or night?
Evening is where it earns its place, because that is when the day’s sunscreen comes off. It is mild enough for morning use if you prefer to cleanse twice a day.
