MOMMY MAKEOVER RECOVERY TIMELINE

A longer recovery, and a kit built for it.

A mommy makeover combines abdominoplasty and waistline liposculpting with breast surgery in a single session of roughly four to six hours, and Dr. Piazza takes particular care to preserve nerve pathways as he goes. The recovery is correspondingly longer than any one of those procedures alone.

  1. DAYS 1–4

    Rest, and the first shower

    Plan on resting at home, with early walking encouraged. Foam pads sit over liposculpted areas and an abdominal binder controls swelling; one or two small drains may be used in the tummy area. Showering is typically allowed once the foam compression comes off, around day 4.

  2. DAYS 5–14

    Still home, still resting

    Most of the 10 to 14 days at home fall here. Compression garments stay on and walking continues.

  3. ~2 WEEKS

    Back to work

    Most patients return to work around the two-week mark. Discomfort through weeks two and three is generally managed with over-the-counter medication, with compression garments still worn.
