Clear Congestion and Control Oil with ZO® Complexion Clearing Masque
The ZO® Skin Health Complexion Clearing Masque is a natural clay-based treatment masque built around sulfur — one of the oldest and best-understood ingredients in blemish care. It draws excess oil out of the pore and helps clear the congestion that turns into a breakout a few days later, while glycerin keeps the skin from being stripped in the process. That last part is what separates it from most clay masks, which tend to leave skin tight and reactive.
Please note: we no longer carry the ZO Skin Health line. This is final remaining stock, offered at 30% off, and will not be restocked once sold.
✨ Key Benefits:
- Absorbs excess surface oil that contributes to future breakouts
- Helps clear the look of clogged and congested pores
- Doubles as an overnight spot treatment on individual blemishes
- Hydrates while it clarifies, so skin is not left tight or stripped
- Suits oily and blemish-prone skin, including adult hormonal breakouts
How to Use: Apply a thin layer to clean skin twice weekly at night, then rinse with warm water. Reduce to once weekly if you notice dryness. For spot treatment, apply a small amount directly to a blemish and leave on overnight.
Size: 3 oz. / 85 g
Why Sulfur, and Why Clay
Sulfur works differently from the two ingredients most people try first. Benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria and bleaches fabric; salicylic acid dissolves the plug inside the pore. Sulfur does something quieter — it is mildly keratolytic and antimicrobial at once, and it is gentle enough to layer into a routine that already contains a retinoid without tipping the skin into irritation. The kaolin and bentonite clays are the delivery mechanism: they bind to surface oil and lift it away as the masque dries, which is why the effect on shine is visible the same evening.
Key Ingredients
- Sulfur — helps clear blemishes and reduce the look of congestion.
- Kaolin and Bentonite Clays — absorb excess surface oil and draw out impurities.
- Glycerin — a humectant that keeps the skin hydrated through the treatment.
Who It's For
A strong fit for oily and blemish-prone skin, and particularly useful if you break out along the jawline and chin, if your T-zone is shiny by midday, or if you get the deep congested bumps that never quite come to a head. Also worth keeping on hand purely as a spot treatment, even if you do not need a full-face masque twice a week.
How to Work It Into Your Routine
Use it on a night you are not using your retinol — sulfur and a retinoid on the same evening is more than most skin barriers want. Apply to clean, dry skin, leave it until it is just dry to the touch rather than cracking, and rinse with warm water before your usual moisturizer. If you are prone to dryness through winter, once weekly is plenty. Keep it away from the eye area, and expect a faint sulfur scent — that is the active ingredient doing its job.
