The Reset Button for Skin That Has Gone Off — Lumion Save My Skin Serum

The Lumion Save My Skin Serum is a weightless hypochlorous acid serum for the days when your skin is not behaving — oily in some places and tight in others, red, reactive, or breaking out for no reason you can name. It absorbs instantly with no greasy residue, refines the look of pores, evens tone and soothes visible redness. Dr. Piazza's aesthetics team uses it in the treatment room alongside the Lumion mist, particularly on skin that is healing.

Key Benefits:

  • Rebalances skin that is simultaneously oily, dry and irritated
  • Helps clear breakouts and prevent new ones from forming
  • Refines the look of pores and evens overall tone
  • Soothes visible redness without stinging or sensitizing
  • Absorbs instantly — no residue, no pilling under sunscreen or makeup
  • Fragrance free and free of alcohol, parabens, phthalates, gluten and dye

How to Use: Shake well. Apply 2–3 pumps generously to face and neck, morning and night, on bare skin. Allow to absorb fully, then follow with the Lumion Miracle Mist, your moisturizer or a facial oil.

Size: 2 oz / 59 mL

Why Our Aestheticians Keep It in the Treatment Room

The team reaches for the Lumion line for three things, and this serum is the leave-on half of that routine:

  • Post-procedure care. After microneedling, a peel or laser, the barrier is temporarily compromised and most active serums are off the table for days. HOCl is the rare exception — gentle enough for open, healing skin while still addressing bacteria, so patients are not left with nothing between cleansing and moisturizer.
  • Breakout prevention. Used twice daily, it works on the bacteria side of acne without the dryness, peeling and bleached pillowcases that come with benzoyl peroxide. That makes it something you can stay on year-round rather than cycling on and off.
  • Sunscreen congestion. Patients who break out from daily SPF often want to stop wearing it, which is the wrong fix. Layering this serum underneath gives the skin a clarifying base and, in our experience, resolves most of that complaint without giving up sun protection.

Hypochlorous Acid Is Not an Exfoliating Acid

The name misleads people. HOCl does not exfoliate, sting or sensitize — it is the same molecule your immune system produces to neutralize bacteria and manage inflammation. That is why it can sit safely on skin that is too reactive for a glycolic, a retinoid or a benzoyl peroxide, and why it is a sensible first serum for anyone who has been burned by actives before.

Key Ingredients

  • Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) — targets breakout-causing bacteria and calms the look of inflammation.
  • Mineral Clay (Sodium Magnesium Fluorosilicate) — helps refine the appearance of pores and manage surface oil.
  • Dead Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride) — supports the formula's clarifying, soothing effect.
  • Electrolyzed Oxygenated Water — the stabilizing base that keeps HOCl active.

Dermatologist tested and approved. Clinically proven. Made in the USA.

Who It's For

A strong fit for sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin, for anyone whose breakouts flare with heat, sweat or sunscreen, and for patients in the week after an in-office treatment. Because it is fragrance free and free of alcohol, it also suits people who react to most serums on the market. It will not interfere with prescription topicals.

How to Work It Into Your Routine

Use it as your first leave-on step, morning and night, on clean bare skin — two to three pumps, face and neck, allowed to absorb fully before anything else. In a recovery week after a procedure, it can be the entire routine alongside a bland moisturizer and sunscreen. Pairs naturally with the Lumion Hypochlorous Acid Miracle Mist for reapplication through the day and the Lumion Miracle Mask once or twice weekly.
