The Only Hypochlorous Acid Mud Mask — Lumion Miracle Mask
The Lumion Miracle Mask is a mineral mud mask built on hypochlorous acid (HOCl), and as far as we know it is the only one of its kind. Where a traditional clay mask works purely by absorption — drying oil off the surface and often leaving the skin tight — this one pairs that mud base with HOCl, the same molecule the human immune system produces to neutralize bacteria. The result decongests pores and calms visible redness at the same time, rather than trading one for the other.
✨ Key Benefits:
- Decongests pores and helps clear the look of breakouts
- Soothes the appearance of redness and irritation while it works
- Gently exfoliates dead surface cells for smoother, softer texture
- Doubles as an overnight spot treatment on individual blemishes
- Gentle enough for sensitive skin, effective enough for acne-prone skin
- Free of alcohol, parabens, fragrance, phthalates, gluten and dye
How to Use: Shake before opening. Apply a layer to clean skin as needed, or spot-apply directly onto blemishes. Leave on for 15 minutes — the mask turns white as it dries. Remove with a warm, wet washcloth using a circular motion. Follow with Lumion Save My Skin Serum and your moisturizer.
Size: 2.0 oz / 59 mL
Why a Mud Mask That Doesn't Strip
Most people with breakouts have been taught to dry the skin out, and most clay masks are built on that premise. The problem is that a stripped barrier overproduces oil to compensate, which is why the mask that clears your skin on Sunday often precedes a worse week. This formula works differently: the diatomaceous earth and mineral clay handle the physical work of lifting oil and dead cells, while the hypochlorous acid addresses breakout-causing bacteria without the harshness of benzoyl peroxide. You get the decongesting effect of a mud mask without the rebound.
Key Ingredients
- Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) — targets breakout-causing bacteria; the same compound your immune system makes naturally.
- Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) — gently exfoliates dead skin cells and refines the look of texture.
- Mineral Clay — absorbs excess surface oil and draws out congestion.
- Dead Sea Salt — supports the mask's clarifying and soothing effect.
Full ingredients: electrolyzed oxygenated water, diatomaceous earth (food grade), sodium magnesium fluorosilicate (clay), sodium chloride (Dead Sea salt), hypochlorous acid.
Who It's For
A strong fit if you break out but cannot tolerate benzoyl peroxide or a harsh scrub, if your skin is both congested and red, or if you are acne-prone and have found that most clarifying masks leave you tight and flaking. Also a useful reset for normal skin after travel, a heavy makeup stretch, or a run of poor sleep.
How to Work It Into Your Routine
Use it once or twice a week on clean skin, on a night you are not using a retinoid or an acid — it is gentle, but stacking exfoliants is what turns a good routine into an irritated one. Fifteen minutes is enough; leaving it on longer does not improve the result and does risk over-drying. For an active blemish, skip the full-face application and dab a small amount directly on the spot before bed. It pairs naturally with the Lumion Hypochlorous Acid Miracle Mist and Save My Skin Serum as a complete line.
