Questions, answered

Is after-sun care worth doing, or is the damage already done?

Some of it is done — a sunburn is an injury that has already happened, and no product reverses it. What after-sun care does is manage what follows: the redness, the tightness, the peeling, and the visible dryness over the next several days. That is worth having, particularly because inflamed skin is more likely to pigment as it settles. So treat it as damage limitation rather than a reset. The honest hierarchy is that avoiding the exposure was worth far more than anything in this bottle.

How soon after sun exposure, and how long do I keep using it?

As soon as you are out of the sun and cooled down, then two or three times a day for as long as skin feels tight or looks flushed — usually three to five days. Cool shower first, apply to slightly damp skin. Hold off on actives during that window: no retinoid, no acids, no scrubs on skin that is already inflamed, and no waxing or hair removal on it.

I got too much sun two weeks after a laser. What now?

Call us — that one warrants a conversation rather than a product. Fresh post-procedure skin pigments much more readily than normal skin, and sun exposure in the first months after resurfacing is the main driver of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Catching it early gives us more options than catching it in two months. In the meantime: strict sun avoidance, mineral SPF once the skin tolerates it, nothing active, and no picking at anything that flakes.
