This procedure requires a consultation from our medical team and is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon.
The P-Shot® (Priapus® Shot) is a non-surgical and minimally invasive medical procedure designed to rejuvenate and enhance male sexual health. Named after the Greek god of virility, Priapus, this treatment involves using a patient's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate tissue regeneration and enhance blood flow in the genital area.
Frequently asked questions:
Is this a series of treatments?
This is typically not a series of treatments but can be depending on your response rate. What we have found is that many patients desire retreatment around 12 months. When we consider that the body is aging and that this treatment helps reverse some of the changes that occur with aging, it is reasonable to consider retreatment in the future.
How often can you be treated?
We recommend once every 12 months if you feel you could benefit from treatment.
How long do the results last?
That is variable but the results could be long-lasting especially if you follow our protocol. The three months following your appointment have structured DIY (do-it-yourself) at-home protocol that allows the tissue to regenerate. We will review our protocol with you in great detail at the time of your visit.
Is there pain associated during and post treatment?
Patients may choose to have topical numbing cream applied to the treatment area but we have found that this is a personal preference. The actual treatment uses a tiny needle and surprisingly, there is very little discomfort at the injection. Most of the discomfort comes from the pressure sensation as the PRP/Exosome is injected into the Corpus Cavernosum – but this is short lived.
Is medical clearance needed depending on Age, health concerns?
The biggest contraindications are active anticoagulation therapy and current diagnosis and treatment for Prostate Cancer.
How long does treatment take?
For patients who are ready for treatment – we schedule an 1 hour 15 min appt for consult, medical questionnaire, and treatment.
What does recovery look like? Is there significant downtime?
There may be a little bruising, and if this occurs, it should resolve in 5-7 days. But other than that, there is no real downtime.
